Follicle Drama: An Update

I know you’ve all been waiting with bated breath to see the conclusion of my hair decision.

To cut or not to cut? Bangs or butt cut? These are the decisions that are plaguing our generation and paralyzing a nation.

Just to keep you abreast to the livelihood of my split ends, I find it necessary to let you all know that I’ve made a decision. I’ve reached an armistice with myself and my hair and that armistice looks a lot like…

Drew Barrymore.

While browsing Pinterest when waking up this morning, as one does, I fell upon this moment of hair greatness and was able to identify immediately that this was the path my tresses were meant to take. At least for now.

I’m digging the polished hippie vibe. Something about her cut here reminds me of a babysitter on the East Coast in the mid 90’s who does a lot of canning of foods and wears wire rim glasses– kind of a pre-makeover Leelee Sobieski in Never Been Kissed vibe. I feel like with this haircut, people will assume that I read more than I actually do, which is forever my ultimate goal. It is going to take a few more months of growing to get to the same length, but I’m willing to do the work.

I can already hear my grandma telling me to get my hair out of my face and I can’t wait!
